Microsoft’s 70-655 test validates your skills and knowledge to efficiently use the Microsoft OEM Preinstallation Kit (OPK) and imaging tools to deploy and maintain Windows Vista desktops and additional tools. Microsoft has specified nineteen objectives for the 70-655 exam. These objectives are grouped under five topics.

- Inserting branding information, support information, and promotional content.
- Inserting logos, support information, phone numbers, Web sites, hours of operation, and model names.
- Configuring Windows pre-installation environment.
- Installing hotfixes.
- Installing Office 2007 Activation Assistant.
- Capturing and auditing images.
- Auditing an image by using the sysprep utility.
- Using various techniques to deploy images, such as using a WIM or an RIS image file.
- Deploying images manually through a network connection by using WinPE.
- Testing image deployment and out-of-box experience (OOBE).
- Troubleshooting image deployment issues such as missing drivers, missing programs, boot issues, and third-party application configurations.
- Performing image maintenance on existing images.
