How do you Certify?
You can get IBM Certified Specialist certificate by passing-by-passing exam 512, IBM Certified Specialist DB2 V7.1 Family or become an IBM Certified Database Associate by passing exam 700, IBM Certified Database Associate DB2 V8.1 Family. It is better to take 700 instead of 512 because it is based on DB2 V8.1. After passing this exam, it will certify that:
- You have basic knowledge of SQL.
- You have a basic knowledge of planning and security.
- You understand how to work with DB2 Data Using SQL and XQuery.
- You understand how to create databases and database objects.
- You have in-depth knowledge of the DB2 force command, ability to configure client/server connectivity, ability to schedule jobs, ability to use Automatic Maintenance (i.e., RUNSTAT, Backup, REORG), data placement, and the other utilities of database.
This exam contains 63 questions. Candidates are required to score 57% or better to pass the exam and will have 75 minutes to complete the exam.
